Private beta
A private command center for the admin side of your life.
Your money, deadlines, and open problems live in plain files on your own machine. An assistant that knows all of it works the problems with you: the calls, the paperwork, the decisions.
What it is
Kelter is for when life admin has outgrown your head: an estate with loose ends, a debt plan, a move, a small business on the side, a health situation to track, travel with too many moving parts. Not a crisis product, though a bad day is one way people arrive.
It is a way of keeping all of that in one place that you own, plus an assistant that has the whole picture when you sit down to deal with it. It helps you organize and understand. It does not give financial, legal, or medical advice.
How it works
- Your files, your machine.Accounts, deadlines, letters, the current state of each open problem: plain files in a folder on your computer. You can open them with anything, back them up anywhere, and take them with you.
- An assistant with the whole picture.Instead of re-explaining your situation every time, you work each problem with an assistant that already has the context: what was said, what is owed, what is due, what has been tried.
- Playbooks for the hard parts.Step-by-step guides for the things nobody teaches you: freezing credit, auditing subscriptions, getting a lender that says "no programs" to offer one. The guides are free and will live on this site.
Your data, in plain words
- Local files
- Your information stays in files on your machine. Kelter does not keep a copy of them on a server.
- Training on your data: off, and checked
- Kelter never holds your data, so it has nothing to train on. The setting that matters is in your AI provider account, and on consumer accounts it defaults to on. During setup we turn it off in your account and check it together.
- What leaves your machine, and why
- When you work a problem with the assistant, the parts of your files relevant to that conversation are sent to the AI model provider to produce the answer. That is the only transit, and it exists so the assistant can actually help. Those conversations are held by the AI provider under your own account and the provider's terms, not by Kelter.
- This website
- Sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. The waitlist form stores the email you type, the note if you add one, the page you were on, and the time. That lives on a server I run. It is used only to talk with you about the beta, and it is deleted when you ask.
Where this stands
Kelter is in private beta. Right now it is a starter kit, the file layout, the playbooks, and the assistant setup, plus hands-on help getting it running. There is no app. Whether one gets built depends on whether the beta proves people want this.
I built it while digging out of my own mess. The waitlist is how I find the next few people to set up by hand.
